On Friday, December 3, the American Catholic Historical Society had the privilege of conferring its 2021 Commodore Barry Award to Archbishop Nelson Pérez of Philadelphia. It was our first major gathering in two years and a fitting celebration for our distinguished honoree.
We recorded the event to share our special musical guest, and Archbishop Pérez’s inspiring message. Please take the time to enjoy!
“I am deeply grateful to the American Catholic Historical Society for the Barry Award it graciously bestowed upon me last Friday evening. A shepherd without a flock isn’t much of a shepherd at all. So, I accepted this Barry Award with prayerful gratitude in the name of all of the priests, deacons, consecrated religious, and lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.”
