Our Summer 2021 issue has arrived featuring a special forum on “Studying Masculinities, Catholic Style,” with contributions by six accomplished scholars. We also have an article on American Catholics and the work of Pax Romana (an international student association) and a fascinating profile of Sister Mary Dennis Donovan, CSJ of Pittsburgh, and her work in civic education and human relations.
Local readers will be especially interested in our cover essay, which recounts the history of the Sisters of the Assumption in the United States. They arrived in Philadelphia in 1919 at the invitation of Cardinal Dougherty, establishing Raven Hill Academy in East Falls. They remain active in the archdiocese today.
The online edition of the issue has not yet been posted by Project Muse. We will alert our digital subscribers as soon as that is made available.
