This exhibit looks at the architectural history of the Archdiocese of Phladelphia through the lens of what might have been. Proposed plans and models are paired with completed designs to show how adjustments, alterations, and alternative visions affected the “look” of Philadelphia Catholicism. Those familiar with the churches, schools, hospitals, and other institutions within the archdiocese may be surprised to discover that familiar places might have looked very different had other design decisions been made. The exhibit also highlights some of the prominent architects and builders who worked with the archdiocese and the legacy they left.
Change of Plans will be on view throughout the 2018-2019 year during all regularly scheduled ACHS events at the Society’s house. Don’t miss your chance to see it!
