Their brief essays reveal the remarkable dynamism of the genuine sense of community that has emerged.

The images on the front and back covers of the issue reveal the evolution of the journal from the Records of the ACHS to the present day. It’s been quite a journey, with more great history still to be written!

Congratulations to the editors of American Catholic Studies, the flagship publication of the American Catholic Historical Society. They have been named the first winners of the American Catholic Historical Association’s Trisco-Minnich prize for editing.

The American Catholic Historical Association is honored to award the Robert F. Trisco and Nelson H. Minnich Prize to Thomas Rzeznik of Seton Hall and Nicholas Rademacher of the University of Dayton.

The prize honors outstanding editing of a work in Catholic Church history.

Dr. Rzeznik has served as the journal’s co-editor since 2013; Dr. Rademacher has been co-editor since 2018. Through their efforts, ACS, which is the only scholarly publication devoted exclusively to an interdisciplinary approach to U.S. Catholicism, has earned a reputation as an important venue for articles, forums, and reviews.

Drs. Rzeznik and Rademacher are especially well known for the generous support that they provide to contributors, especially to first-time authors and those early in their academic careers.

It is due to the work of Drs. Rzeznik and Rademacher that ACS continues to offer well-written and well-researched articles, alongside roundtables, forums, reviews, and cover essays that are of interest to scholars working in this field, and to a more general readership.
